This restaurant/pub has been under new ownership for some time. All prior post were under the old owners who ran the place down. Now it is vibrant, the food always hot and exceptional good. Good idea to book, its that good and popular
I found the food to be mediocre. There was nothing special about the the food. The place was busy for a Sunday brunch, but it appeared there were regulars. Quite disappointed.
We have tried to give the quaint little place a few shots at being our local eatery, but three strikes and they're out.
The most recent visit we ordered wings (usual pub fare- ok) and a spinach salad which had rotting leaves and scarce toppings. The service made us feel as though we were not part of the crowd that they want to welcome. Perhaps it should be a private club rather than a public restaurant. Our server grabbed our orders, departing as the words were still in the air, then spent most of the evening chatting with folks at another table.
On the plus side, the washroom was fit for the Admiral Himself!
They have a nice selection of beers. Grub is standard pub fair that is reasonably priced. Can be quite busy on Fri/Sat night, but service is always quick and polite.
